Day 1: Leaving New York and traveling to Niagara Falls
We left the Big Apple this morning and flew into Toronto, then caught our shuttle for the 125km trip to Niagara Falls.
Our accommodation
When we checked in we realised that our room didn’t even face the falls so we paid for a room upgrade so we could see them from our room ($20 USD per night – we were here for two nights).
It was awesome to be able to see the falls from our room and even more brilliant opening the curtains in the morning to THAT view.
Definitely worth it!
We bought an Adventure Pass
We bought the Niagara Falls Adventure Pass which bundled some of the city’s most popular and must-do attractions at a discounted rate of $65 pp.
The Adventure Pass included a two consecutive day pass for WEGO (the Hop-on/Hop-off bus) as well as one time admission to:
- Hornblower Niagara Cruises
- Journey Behind the Falls
- Niagara’s Fury
- White Water Walk
Exploring Niagara Falls: One of nature's marvels
The actual falls were unbelievable and unlike anything that we had ever seen before. It’s quite amazing the sheer volume of water coming over the edge of the falls – estimated at 570,000 litres/second.
The Hornblower
We took a trip on The Hornblower so we could get up close and personal to the American Falls, Canadian Horseshoe Falls, and Great Gorge. It was quite surreal to hear the thundering roar, see the awesome power and feel the wetting mist.
Unbelievable!

Day 2: Journey behind the falls
Today we had a look behind the falls, which we accessed via tunnels that took us right behind the face of the falls.
We started this experience with a short 4D presentation about the Falls and then headed into the tunnels. It was absolutely incredible to hear the roar and feel the sheer power of all that water…
White Water Walk
We took the WEGO 4 kilometres north of the falls to the boardwalk, at the very edge of one of the world’s wildest stretches of whitewater, then went 70 metres down in a lift and walked a tunnel 73 metres long to the boardwalk.
