Cars
I’ve always loved driving.
I got my license in 1986, 9 days after my birthday off the back of three driving lessons from Trish’s Driving School in Launceston.
I still remember my first solo drive from Newnham, where I lived, to the other side of town to Summerhill to my mate DK’s place. I still remember driving up his Street and having to do a u-turn, which I did in third gear, which resulted in me ‘pig-rooting’ the car until it stalled. The feeling of freedom of having a car, and being able to go wherever I wanted, just blew my tiny mind in all the right ways.
Throughout my driving life, I’ve mainly owned Ford product. Actually, my second car (a Datsun 200B) was the only non-Ford product that I owned in 38 years of driving.
I’ve mainly been a Ford Falcon guy or derivatives of.
Over those years I’ve owned:
2 x Falcon utes
- 1 x 2014 FG X
- 1 x 2007 BF
2 x Falcon sedans
- 1 x 1997 EL
- 1 x 1985 XF
1 x Ltd sedan
- 1 x 1985 FE
1 x Falcon station wagon
- 1 x 1983 XE
My other ford product was a 1974 Escort Mk 1.
In 2025, I finally bought something other than a Ford, my Subaru WRX Wagon. It was something of a necessity as I found myself owning a car that had a fuel supply that was being phased out and going to live in a town where it nearly had been.
Cars I've Owned

I got my license in 1986, 9 days after my birthday off the back of three driving lessons from Trish’s Driving School in Launceston.
My first car was a 1970 Ford Escort XL 1100 in British racing green.
I bought my Datsun in 1987 after trading in my Escort for $750, which was coincidentally the same price that I bought it for. My new ride cost me $3,900.
My XF Falcon was the first 'nice' car I owned. When I purchased it in 1989 it was only three and a half years old and in awesome condition.
I bought my 1983 Ford Falcon XE Wagon (I named him Neville) in 1998 when I decided I wanted to go and live in Queensland.
I bought my FE LTD in 2001 after I had saved enough money to purchase her – I named her Drew.
I bought my 1997 EL Ford Fairmont in 2006 from a car yard in Rochedale South...

I bought my car sight unseen off the internet on 28 October 2015 after finding it on CarSales. At the time, I wasn't looking for the latest model, just an upgrade to a newer model.
My new car isn't a Falcon.
I bought my car (again) sight unseen off the internet on 10 June 2025 after finding it on CarSales.
